Why Lejeune Dance Company

Real training. Real artistry. Real community.

Age-appropriate, kid-first

Kids should be kids. We commit to age-appropriate music, costuming, and choreography — and a positive environment where every dancer feels safe, confident, and supported. Parents tell us this is the thing that sets us apart from other studios.

Proven training progression

From Creative Movement to pre-professional level pointe and acrobatics, every class follows a clear, age-appropriate progression — built by certified instructors who know how dancers grow.

Onslow County's only kids' aerial & cirque studio

We're the only studio in the Camp Lejeune / Sneads Ferry area where children can train on aerial silks and lyra alongside cirque, ballet, jazz, tap, and 8 more disciplines — all under one roof.

Family-first culture

We know dance is a long-term commitment for the whole family. Parent communication is clear, recitals are joyful, and every dancer is celebrated.

Safety-first acrobatics & aerial

Acrobatics and aerial classes follow certified safety progressions. Skills are introduced only when prerequisite strength and flexibility are met — never rushed.

Competition team opportunities

Dancers ready for the next level can audition for our competition company — a tight-knit team that performs across the region.

Performance team — local & non-competitive

Our performance team gives dancers real stage time and community service performances in the Onslow County / Sneads Ferry area without the cost, travel, or pressure of competitive dance. A genuine path to perform for kids who love the spotlight but aren't ready for a competition season.

The Aerial Advantage

The only place in coastal NC where your kid can train aerial silks

Real talk: serious aerial dance for children is rare. The closest aerial studio in Wilmington is adults-only. Marz Aerial in New Bern is 45+ minutes away. We're the only studio in the Camp Lejeune / Sneads Ferry / Hampstead / Holly Ridge service area where kids age 6+ can train on aerial silks and lyra — through our bird-named leveled progression (Hummingbirds → Sparrows → Swans → Hawks → Falcons → Ravens).

Owner-instructor Meredith Caruso is certified in Aerial Silks, Lyra, and Rigging Safety — and our Sneads Ferry studio was built with purpose-rated rigging points and sprung floors specifically for aerial and cirque programming.

Common Questions

What parents ask before signing up

  • We believe kids should be kids. All music, costuming, and choreography is age-appropriate — no exceptions. Our focus is on nurturing each dancer's physical, emotional, and creative well-being in an encouraging, high-quality environment. Parents tell us this is the thing that sets us apart from other studios.

  • Yes — schedule an observation any time and watch a class from our parent viewing area. We don't offer free trial participation because our teachers' attention belongs to the dancers already enrolled, but observations are unlimited and welcome. Schedule one through our contact page or call us directly.

  • Our youngest dancers start in Creative Movement at 18 months, and we teach all the way through advanced adult classes. Most disciplines have multiple age and skill divisions, so dancers progress at their own pace.

  • No. Our Sneads Ferry studio is fully off-base and welcomes families from Sneads Ferry, Holly Ridge, Hampstead, Jacksonville, and across Onslow County — no military ID required. Families with base access can choose either location.

  • Registration happens through our parent portal (powered by GoStudioPro). You can browse classes, sign up, and pay tuition online any time. We're happy to help you pick the right class — just reach out.

  • Yes — we host two recitals each year (a Holiday showcase and a full Spring recital). Recitals are optional but strongly encouraged; performing is one of the most rewarding parts of training. Recital tickets are free and unlimited — bring the whole extended family.

  • No — costume fees for recital pieces are billed separately from monthly tuition. Pricing varies by piece and we send a detailed breakdown each fall so you can budget ahead.

  • Yes — a $26 annual registration fee per student, charged through the Parent Portal. On-base families pay this through the portal too (not MCCS).
